Last year, something very strange happened to me. One day, and it was just a normal day in the summer, I found out that I was going to inherit a large amount of gold bullion. The person had died a few days before and according to their will, I was supposed to be given part of their fortune. Well, I was really surprised. I did not know who the person was, and their identity was no to be revealed. I thought that maybe it was one of my wealthy uncles who lived in Australia. But I really doubted that. The last time I had seen any of them was when they had visited home twenty-five years ago. I was still a toddler at that time. And surely if any of them died, their daughters would inherit their possessions. Another thought crossed my mind. Perhaps the person was not a relative at all? Maybe we had met one day, perhaps I had done them a favour and the gold bullion was a way of saying thank you? Well, that would make sense, but to be honest, I was not able to recall a situation like that. Even if I had helped somebody in the street, they would have never found out what my name was. I asked my mother what she thought about all this, and she had no idea. She had no idea of any recent deaths in the family. In the end, I accepted the gold bullion, but this huge mystery keeps nagging me even today.
